範例練習:
It is true that an enormous number of people are moving from rural areas or suburban places to cities in order to have a better life. While there might be scores of difficulties people migrating to cities need to face, governments can still do something to make their life easier.
There are several obstacles that people moving to big cities need to face. Firstly, the housing price is extremely high for people to find a place to stay. For example, if you want to buy a house in Taipei, which is the biggest city in Taiwan, you might need to pay five hundred thousand pounds, equivalent to some people’s ten-year salary and they might still need to pay half of their salary to the bank for forty years or so. Secondly, it is rather hard for some people to get to work because there might be a traffic jam during the rush hour due to the number of people is trying to commute at the same time. Finally, it is respectively tough for people from towns or countryside to adjust themselves to fit in the culture of big cities.
Nonetheless, there are many ways that governments can do to help people from rural areas to settle down in the cities easier. The governments can provide affordable social houses or flats near the city centre where people usually find their jobs or many companies locate their offices. Thus, people can have somewhere to stay while saving more money and they do not need to commute, making the traffic worse. Furthermore, some social events, introducing the cities can be held by the governments. Therefore, people moving from other towns can understand the cities and culture so that they can fit in faster and easier.
In conclusion, it is not an easy thing to survive in metropolitan cities; however, there are many ways and things that governments can provide to help those people. (320 words)
