經濟學人討論言論自由

今天要討論的題目跟社群媒體限制美國前總統的貼文，是否有危害言論自由，社群媒體發展日益壯大，是否也影響了我們的言論。

單字：

• crony /ˈkrəʊni/ – a person that somebody spends a lot of time with親信也被封鎖了

• cacophony /kəˈkɒfəni/ – a mixture of loud unpleasant soundschaotic /keɪˈɒtɪk/ – without any order; in a completely confused state混亂的（超好用的字）

• bar /bɑː(r)/ – to ban or prevent somebody from doing something當動詞就是把別人放在bars 後面ＸＤ

• elevated /ˈelɪveɪtɪd/ – having a high moral or intellectual level高尚，這裡(less elevated motives)指的應該是私心

• precedent /ˈpresɪdənt/ – an official action or decision that has happened in the past and that is seen as an example or a rule to be followed in a similar situation later

• dilute /daɪˈluːt/ – to make something weaker or less effective

• oligopoly /ˌɒlɪˈɡɒpəli/ – a market in which there are only a few companies producing or selling a product or service. This can result in less competition and higher prices for customers.

這次要講的不是文法，而是字彙，仔細看他在講「封鎖」這件事情，因為封鎖的社群媒體太多了，這個字要用到很多次，他必須換字，而不是一直用 ban他有用例如說 be barred, suspension, be suspended, be banned, permanent ban. 這些字都是相同的意思，他是他藉由換詞性和換字，來讓自己的文章豐富度增加，這是文章寫作和閱讀理解裡面很重要的一環唷！！！
